THE EFFECT OF MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES ON ENHANCING ORGANIZATIONAL PRODUCTIVITY IN NIGERIA: A STUDY OF NIGERIA IMMIGRATION SERVICE CALABAR, CROSS-RIVER STATE NIGERIA

    Abstract

    This study examined management strategies for enhancing productivity in public service: a case study of Nigeria Immigration service calabar. Human Capital Theory was adopted and applied to the study as a framework for the study. Survey research design was adopted and data were generated from primary source with questionnaires as instrument for generating the primary data. Data were presented and analysed using multiple regression analyis. Hypothesis was tested using regression analysis through SPSS computer statistical percentage version 24.0 which tested the effects of the independent or predictor variables on the dependents or criteria variables at a P<0.05 level of significance. The findings reveal a statistically significant effect of management strategies adopted on productivity in Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) Calabar. The study recommends among others that, The Nigerian immigration service should invest in leadership development programs that promote transformational leadership, emphasizing vision, motivation, and staff engagement, Management of NIS should develop a structured training curriculum tailoredto the evolving needs of immigration personnel and Standardize and Replicate Effective Management Strategies productivity in the NIS is not driven by a single factor but by the interplay of leadership behavior, human capacity development, and strategic management practice
