There are many paramilitary agencies in Nigeria responsible for combating crimes across Nigeria borders. These agencies includes: Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Custom Service, Nigeria drug law enforcement agency (NDLEA), and National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP). These agencies are playing significant role in combating Trans-Border Crimes such as smuggling, drugs trafficking, arms trafficking, money laundering and illegal migration in Nigeria-Niger Border. The major aim of this study is to examine the role of these agencies in combating trans-border crime in Niger-Niger border. Routine activity and rational choice theories were adopted as theoretical framework in the study. Desk review method was employed in the study. The findings revealed that these agencies are playing a significant role in addressing the menace of crime in Niger-Niger border. The study recommended that government should provide these paramilitary agencies with adequate equipment to effectively combat crime in the border; Nigeria-Niger border is porous, government should consider the possibility of fencing the border in order to design clear boundary between Nigeria and Niger republic. This will reduce illegal migration and smuggling of contrabands into the country; and finally, a joint training should be organized with all paramilitary personnel working in border communities in order to strengthen their capacity.
